Synopsis of The Leprechauns’ Christmas Gold

The Leprechaun’s Christmas Gold: A sailor and a leprechaun join forces to reclaim the Christmas gold after a wailing banshee makes off with it.  It’s the sailor’s unintentional fault – can they make things right?

Review

Don’t let the banshee out!  In short, The Leprechauns’ Christmas Gold is the story of a ship’s cabin boy, who does that … unintentionally.  He’s sent by his captain to dig up a pine tree on an uncharted island, for the crew’s Christmas.  So, it’s technically a Christmas story, but it’s really more of a St. Patrick’s Day cartoon.  The young man tries to repair the damage he’s done with the help of the Leprechauns on the island.

The Banshee (Mag the Hag) must get Leprechaun’s gold by Christmas.  She can’t steal it … she must be given it.

Cast of characters

  • Art Carney (The Honeymooners) … Narrator / Blarney Kilakilarney (voice). The Leprechaun who tells the story in back flash, of how Old Mag the Banshee was captured, with the help of the Lord of the Leprechauns.
  • Peggy Cass (Auntie Mame) … Blarney’s wife, Faye. She’s fooled by Old Mag, the Banshee.
  • Bob McFadden (Thundercats) … Lord of the Leprechauns.
  • Ken Jennings (The Last Unicorn) … Dinty Doyle / Father Leprechaun. The young sailor, shipwrecked. Blarney entrusts him with his gold, to keep it safe from Old Mag. But she can change her shape …. Will she fool him into giving the gold to her?
  • Christine Mitchell … Old Mag. The shapeshifting Banshee. She has only a few hours to get her hands on the gold. She sows discord between Blarney and Faye. When that doesn’t work, she tries to fool Dinty.
