Psycho is Alfred Hitchcock’s landmark masterpiece of the macabre. It stars Anthony Perkins as Norman Bates, a quiet young man who runs a roadside motel … with his mother. Marion Crane (Janet Leigh), is on the run after stealing from her boss. She stays there, but the ill-fated traveler’s journey ends in the notorious “shower scene”. First a private detective, then Marion’s sister (Vera Miles) search for her. The horror and the suspense mount to a climax where the mysterious killer is finally revealed.
