He’s been poisoned, and wants to tell the story to the police before he dies. And it’s both a good murder mystery (who would kill a CPA, and why), as well as a great story about people. He’s in love with Paula, and could have been happy with her. He wanted to marry her — but was afraid. And now, there’s no more time …
