The Muppet Movie is the story of how Kermit the Frog leaves the swamp in search of fame and fortune. Along the way, he meets up with the various Muppet characters that we know and love. Fozzie the (failed) comedian, Rowlf who plays piano, Miss Piggy the beauty contest winner, Gonzo, and more.
Herbie Goes Bananas is the fourth Love Bug movie from Disney, and is the most kid-centered Herbie movie thus far. There’s no trace of the original cast from The Love Bug, with a new owner for Herbie, who wants to follow in his uncle’s footsteps and become a famous race car driver.
Frankly, I found the first hour of The Croods (2013) to be cliched, and formulaic. And it wasn’t until the final third of the movie that I began to enjoy it. But when I got to that point, it was well worth watching.
Sky High — A cute movie about the insecurities of growing up and entering high school — with the added complication of being the son of superheroes. Teen angst, young love, and high school rivalries are here, in a not-too-serious movie that is aimed at children, but that adults will smile at occasionally as well.
