The Mighty Gorga is a bargain-basement King Kong imitation, that still has some charm. Although the ‘monster’ costumes are laughable!
The Mighty Gorga (1969) starring Anthony Eisley, Megan Timothy
The Mighty Gorga is a cheesy King Kong imitation, where the monster costumes are incredibly bad! It’s clearly a very low budget film, where a circus owner is desperate to get a big attraction, to save his failing circus. So he’s hired Tonga Jack to find it — but he’s gone missing! He goes to Tonga Jack’s business, and helps Tonga’s lovely daughter. And soon, the duo are on Tonga Jack’s trail.
Whom they eventually find, in a “lost world” jungle where Gorga, the King Kong ripoff, is fighting a ridiculously bad T-Rex. There’s a clip of the fight at the bottom of the review.
Sadly, The Mighty Gorga is one of those cheesy monster movies that’s good to mock with your friends while eating popcorn on a rainy afternoon.
Product Description
It’s the film that makes “King Kong” look like a classic! Meet “The Mighty Gorga” (1969, 84 min.), a goofy-looking (and often cross-eyed) giant gorilla played by a guy in the worst ape suit ever seen in a motion picture! Journey to a Prehistoric Plateau and also meet a tyrannosaurus played, no surprise, by a guy wearing the worst dinosaur suit ever seen in a motion picture. It’s a special effects non-spectacle so stupid it’s breathtaking! Other creatures include a serpent guarding the Lost Treasure of Bronson Canyon, and such B-movie dinosaurs as Anthony Eisley, Kent Taylor, and Scott Brady.
