Product Description
Bela Lugosi stars as a “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”-like professor in Bowery At Midnight. By day, Professor Brenner (Lugosi) is a distinguished psychology professor at a New York university. Unbeknownst to his students, by night he also heads up a mysterious “charitable” mission down in the Bowery. But this mission is actually a front for his sinister and deadly criminal enterprises. The basement where he disposes of his victims contains a lovely little cemetery neatly laid out with graves. Below this lies a sub-chamber which is apparently populated by murderous zombie ghouls. When one of his students accidentally discovers the truth about his double life, he becomes the object of the professor’s lethal attentions.
Originally produced by Monogram, Bowery At Midnight is loaded with subplots and provides a wonderful showcase for Lugosi’s inimitable way with horror movie dialogue and action.
