In short, Night of the Living Dead is a good horror movie — because it deals with people. People that the audience learns enough about to care for. People who are thrown together, and have to fight for survival. If they can manage to overcome their own problems, long enough to act as a group.
It’s well done, well acted, and surprisingly enjoyable.
